can you use any midi keyboard with a midi controller to get sounds from it?

im thinking of buying a Roland EDIROL PCR-M50.its a midi controller,i know it doesnt come with sounds because of that but im thinking of using my yamaha midi in and out keyboard to get sounds from it.i know this will work.but im trying to make beats so how do i get bass drums on there and stuff i chopped up?
this guy did it its the same one i've asked him but he didnt respond>>> http://youtube.com/watch?v=hdEt1-j-CGI

Yeah, that should work. As long as both keyboards have MIDI I/O, you will be just fine.

Just run a cable from the MIDI out of the controller keyboard to the MIDI in of the one that has the sounds you want to use. It may take a little setting up...for example, your controller keyboard will be set up to transmit on a certain MIDI channel, typically from 1-16, this is also customizable. Your other keyboard should be able to receive on 16 channels simultaneously, if it is a multitimbral model. Let's say that is your source keyboard is set to play piano over channel 1, then if your controller keyboard is set to transmit over channel 1, then you will hear piano. If it isn't set to channel 1, you will probably hear another instrument instead. I hope that makes sense.

Good luck!

Oops...I hastily glanced over the last part of your question and I think I missed something vital.

You mention using sliced (chopped up) beats that I'm assuming you have already created. In order to do this, you're probably going to need some additional hardware. Most MIDI controllers have the factory sounds hardwired in to them and aren't capable of loading external sounds. Unless your source keyboard specifically has sampling capabilities (which is HIGHLY unlikely), then you're going to need a dedicated sampler. I have a Yamaha A4000 digital sampler that I'm in love with. I think it would be perfect for what you need as it has several dedicated functions that will help you to create and chop up (as well as remix) your beats.

You should be able to pick one up on eBay for around $300-$400. IMO, it's worth every penny. It also comes with ten CDs of material. Eight (or is it nine...?) of them are loaded with sounds including drumset, ethnic percussion, woodwinds, brass, guitar and bass, synth, voice...just about anything you'll need. The remaining disc (or two...?) has some utility software for your PC that will assist you in processing your sounds and getting them onto the sampler. Check it out at the Yamaha web site!
