How can I record sounds from my Yamaha DD-65 drum machine onto my PC?

I Have tried plugging a guitar lead Into the PHONES / OUTPUT socket in my drum machine to Both the mic socket and line-in socket in my PC, no sounds come out aim the speakers Either Way. I Have tried Going Under start -> accessories -> entertainment -> volume control and Turning Up the volume for the microphone and line in. And I Have Opened up audacity to see if it Will work With That, But Still No luck. I know I'm Supposed to use MIDI to lead, goal I'm Already Have a tight and lead guitar. Plus, I figured if I plugged headphones Some Into the socket of the drum machine, sound would come out anyway - Should Be Therefor sounds coming out my computer. Help please?

There's a few "Things I would check. Firstly, That your computer speakers are working properly. Second, That There's no problem with the output from your drum machine, the input on Your Computer or the Lead That You're using. I've Used a number of drum machines with a PC, desired exactly as you are and Experienced no problems. I Have Been using a Proper Though sound card - I do not know If That Makes "any difference.
