how to play bass drum?
I need help playing the bass drum I'm a beginner on that instrument
so I don't know anything about it and I already tried google it didn't show me the one i needed it's the one you carry in the band so is there any site that can help me
http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/Images/BandOrchestra/Product/Main/Field-Corps-Bass-Drums.jpg this is it just in case and like previously posted I need help on everything the notes when to play and all that. Thanks
I have played bass clarinet so I do know read the notes and yes its a marching band 3 of us myself included
Do you already know how to read music? If so, the bass drum doesn't have "notes" so to speak, but x's with stems that look like notes. These are just counted - when you have an x, you play. (i.e. in 4/4 time x x x x with stems you play on each beat). As it becomes more advanced, with eighth notes for example, they will have the bars connecting them like notes with eighth notes.
In the event you're in marching band with more than one bass drum, each bass drum has a space on the staff, and the bass drums often have a moving line together.
If you don't know how to read music already, I would suggest doing a google search on how to count rhythms. For bass drum, you won't need to be able to read notes, but rather how to count. Hope that helps!
