What synth do you expect?

I play keyboard Yamaha YPG and I want to get a synthesizer to above. I really James Dewees (The Get Up Kids) synthesizer music and things of the cabin. I do not know which is right for me. I looked inside, but I can not spend $ 3,000 on a Moog. I want something that looks like Action & Action: The Get Up Kids or zzzzz by: the cabin. I'm tired of finding synthesizers that sound like guitars or drums. If I wanted it to sound like that, I would just use my guitar. I am ready to spend up $ 1,000, but I'm not sure if I can get something good for this price. Thank you Kool Thing but it seems that music from a Nintendo video game very elderly. I mean you hear a synthesizer as an emo.

I have a Korg R3, and it currently sells for $ 400 - $ 500, and when I purchased, it was $ 700. That's about the big sister of Micro Korg synthesizer and is quite amazing. Go test it and I am sure you'll love it as much as me.
