Snare Drum Kit
Suggestions needed to purchase a snare drum kit....?
I have a 5th grader who wants to try drums for the year and see if it is something he is interested in. The music/band leader said we need to buy a snare drum kit. It has the drum, practice pad, sticks and stand in a rolling suitcase type bag. Can you recommend a name brand...not cheap but decent for a beginner and easy to resell if it is not for him. Prices? thanks!
personally, i dont think youd would save much money by buying a nicer kit and trying to resell it than if you bought a cheaper set and just kept it or gave it away. but i will suggest some brand names for you anyways:
cheaper: pulse, sonar, ludwig, CB, gator
these will range from 75-125 bucks
better: pearl, tama, mapex, dw, yamaha
will be a good 100-200 more expensive.
Like i said, i would suggest googling "cheap snare kit" and just get something cheap from a site that offers free shipping. even if you bought a nicer one and tried to resell it, you might get 50% back for it. if youre lucky.
