Very Old Vintage Drums
Very Old Vintage Drums

Are new or vintage drums better?
I'm new to drums and I watched a bit of battery. Some are new, some used, and some very old. Is there a difference in sound or quality in terms of age when it comes to the battery?
Jordan was not the best answer to your question. I too, have played for years and had many sets. It is always nice to have a new series, if you can afford. But the sound is not always better. The sound of the drum depends on many factors, such as diameter and depth the shell, the thickness and composition of the head of the dough and the resonant head (if any), number of plies in the tank, and the distance between the edge of suspension (head) and the rim. These are some things one would look for an experienced drummer. Older drums could actually his best, depending on what type of sound you want. It usually takes several years before playing you really know enough about her to know what you want. If you can obtain an experienced drummer to help you shop, you can get an excellent deal on the battery used. It is best to get a "matched" define, if possible, but even that depends on the sound you are looking for. A drum is a set of percussion instruments and rarely do you find two similar games, except perhaps in a catalog or showroom. drummers playing configured differently and adjust their drums differently, so no two sets are alike. It Some percussion instruments of the family more than any other instrument. Each drummer chooses what instruments go into a whole. Most drummers with more than one all have their set differently, drums of different sizes, different accessories and different materials to suit different situations. You must be experienced to know about it! For example, I had a double bass double game that I liked because it had two marks different (and size) of the bass drum! It was easy to get a different sound of each drum. If you want a bass with the same effect each drum sound, just buy a double pedal and mount it on a drum!

LP Udu Drums Claytone $34.95 LP Udu Drums possess distinct tonal qualities which range from subtle bass tones to soothing tabla-like tones. Their clay construction is based upon centuries-old African traditions. The name "Udu" has been derived from the Nigerian Ibo language, meaning "pottery". Each LP Udu Drum offers individual tonal values. They can be played by hitting any part of the drum with the palm of the hand or the finger tips. The textured surfaces provide additional tonal variations by creating rubbing sounds. The sound possibilities can be further expanded using the unique microphone ports found in each chamber. Small mics can be mounted for amplification and to capture the wondrous internal sounds. LP Udu Drums are generally played in a seated position with the drum on the player's lap. They can also be played on a table top or floor using the included straw ring stands. LP Udu Drum Claytones are teardrop shaped drums available in four sizes. The smallest Claytone #1, produces high-pitched, cutting, "soprano" sounds. The Claytone #2 gives a slightly fuller, more tenor sound than the #1. The Claytone #3 creates deep, powerful, "baritone" sounds. The Claytone #4 is the largest and produces the deepest and "bassiest" sound of the four drums. Each drum has a side hole in the body and a top hole in the neck for additional sound possibilities as well as textured surfaces for creating rubbing sounds. |

LP Bata Drums $439 LP Founder Martin Cohen first came across bata drums more than thirty years ago at a religious ceremony in the Bronx, New York. Traditionally batas are ceremonial drums that are played in groups. At least three people sit, each with a different size drum, and act out "call and answer" patterns which are played on the drums. They were traditionally rope tuned, but today, through the use of state-of-the-art machinery, LP Bata Drums are wrench tuned. They are made from our specially selected, kiln dried, environmentally friendly Siam Oak and are the most precisely made batas available today. LP Bata Drums are available in three sizes: small or Oconcolo with 5" and 6-3/4" head sizes, medium or Omele/Itolele with 5-3/4" and 9" head sizes, and large or Iya with 6-1/2" and 12-1/2" head sizes. The shape of the shell is gracefully tapered, with increasing thickness to the smallest point, for a great, strong sounding drum. Each natural rawhide head has been carefully chosen for optimum sound quality. LP Bata Drums are available with chrome hardware and are also supplied with a black nylon neck strap, a tuning wrench and LP Lug Lube. |
