Vintage Crest Japan

Story of a lighter?

I recently acquired this amazing (vintage?) Pall Mall lighter. I try to identify and find someone to give him an air of "up" and replace the screw cap for the case where the lighter goes in. I think is silver. One side has a raised pattern embossed with a crown on the leaves and the stars. There is a little rectangle where you can burn your initials. The reverse is red with Crest Pall Mall and the words "In hoc signo vinces." The background is marked by "CONTINENTAL - Japan." This is half the size of a credit card and maybe 1 / 4 inch thick (not sure). I can send you a picture. Any help in identifying or pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. Thank you!

"In hoc signo vinces" was, and is the signature phrase of Pall Mall. Meaning, more or less, "You will win. "Continental is the manufacturer of the lighter. It was made in Japan after the Second World War, some time after 1956. Before that time, he would have said "Made in Japan". It is probably a copy of the most popular Zippo lighter. Find a tobacco store or usually Knife Shop your local mall. They usually sell lighters and can be a source of repair.
