Before you begin to explore the world of playing drums, you have to first claim your stake on a private corner of the room and set up your gear. You have to familiarize yourself with drums sets and drum sticks. You also have to prepare for skills in setting up and tuning your drum set.
Put the fun into your beginner's journey by taking the time to shop and search for a good drum set. There are certain qualities you will look for in a drum set.
You will have to consider what type of drum you can buy. Will you be studying how to play a conventional acoustic drum like most people, or will you be trying the art of playing a hand drum? You must decide whether to get a brand new drum kit or purchase a used one and whether to go for a set which branded or a lower end. This all depends on the amount you are willing to spend and invest.
Speaking of investments, inasmuch as you are investing in a course, it would be smart to buy a simple, inexpensive drum set for starters to practice on as a beginner. A five-piece acoustic drum set would do. You could always upgrade later when you're more skilled.
Part of being a beginner is learning to choose your drum sticks. They differ as to material, tip style, and size. You could start out with drum sticks made of maple or hickory with a wooden tip. Whether they are thin or thick would affect how loud or soft a sound would be played. You will also learn how to hold the sticks as a basic skill.
Most starter kits for beginners come as a five-drum set with a set of sticks and a stool. Junior sets are also available for younger beginners, unless they are prepared and experienced enough to handle full-size drum sets.
A drummer's dream of playing would be half-realized once he has a drum set of his own. Yours would.
Part of your beginner drum lessons will include guided instructions on how to set up and tune your drum set. As to location, one tip would be to set up your drums for ease and comfort. Maximize not only the space but also your enjoyment of it. As to tuning, you will be given step-by-step instructions on how to adjust your drum keys, tensions rods and screws, and wires. Since you will check on the quality of sound by ear, it follows that your aural skills would be greatly improved. Depending on the size of the room and its proximity to the neighborhood, you might need some silencing pads to keep the noise to a minimum.
With some guided lessons on the use of drums, you will have a solid foundation as a beginner. You will develop a greater respect for this instrument, and your personal attention and care for the equipment will reflect your love for the craft.

I'm looking to buy a drum set. What would be the basic parts i will need?
Also give me an estimate of the price, or if you can give me about the exact price that would be great.
i cant give you an exact price because you havnt provided enough information. it would be like if i asked you "im looking to buy a car. exactly how much does it cost?" kinda hard to answer that, right? if you want a used honda, it might be 1000 bucks. if you want a ferrari, you better be willing to pay 250 times that amount! so here are my estimates, all for cheap beginner gear:
-shells. most drums are just sold shells alone. average for a beginner set is around 400$.
-cymbals. need a crash, a ride and hihats. can usually buy these in a package for around 200$.
-hardware. stands are around 50 bucks a piece, a pedal is around 75, and a chair, well, you can use any chair really!
