Jam album by excellent by the Rolling Stones, Black and Blue is a departure from It's Only Rock 'n Roll and Goats Head Soup, in the sense that its decline do not enjoy but simply shows the band just, well, play. You can call Black and Blue from the hangover of the two albums. Part of the reason was the departure of guitarist Mick Taylor, then it's only Rock n Roll "and heard the band was guitarist and thus there were many guitarists on this album. The group had finally established in the former guitarist Jeff Back and Faces Ron Wood, but would be more extensive than the one on the next album, Some Girls. The characteristics disc album ( "Hot Stuff"), reggae ( "Cherry Oh Baby"), ballads ( "Fool to Cry" and the beautiful "Memory Motel" one of his best), Hard Rock ( "Hand of Fate" and "Crazy Mama"), Latin music ( "Hey Negrita") and Tin-Pan Alley ( "Melody"). As Exile on Main Street, black and blue does not include petitions mass ( "Fool to Cry" barely cracked the Top 10) but as a whole is a pleasure to listen. The musical landscape was changing with the advent of disco and punk, however, and the band need to revitalize itself (not to mention that Keith Richards is needed sober) that are still relevant. Not the stones.

Emotional Rescue followed the great success of girls and basically follows the same formula, especially more that the album is composed of remnants of some girls sessions. Given this, it is easy to assume that this album consists of filling, and well If it could this be true, is filling that is very well written and interpreted. The reggae tinged hymn to the brides' Send It To me, stupid rockers "Summer Romance" and "Where The Boys Go", the Buck Owens-ish "Indian Girl" and the hard rock of "Dance (Pt. 1) "songs are solid if not Guilty Pleasures. The punky" Let Me Go "and the blues-rock of" Down In The Hole "are the winners. The title but cold sexy subject and theme of Chuck Berry as "She's So Cold" could be regarded as classics that have their own with the rest of the catalog group, while "All About You" is another brilliant vocal contribution of Keith Richards. In general, Emotional Rescue is a very solid start with just a moment of boredom, not to mention a great way to open a new decade for the group.
